ABOUT US

King's MathSoc was initially formed to give students a voice within the department. Students vote 3 committee members who then represent them and their concerns to the department and College. Since its initial founding however, the society has strived to become more than just reps. We have organised events, sold subsidised merchandise and much more.

All undergraduate maths students are automatically members of KCL MathSoc. There are no subs to pay, as we are funded by the department. Thus unlike most university societies, you can take advantage of all our stuff for free.

In the past MathSoc events have included the link-up party, trips to the WestEnd and annual trip to Cumberland Lodge, a fantastic weekend away taking place midway through the second semester; talks on the more appealing side of maths are given with plenty of leisure time to enjoy Windsor Great Park and to socialise and network with fellow students and lecturers.

We have also commenced, as of last year, buddy system for the beginning of the  year, to help the newest students settle into life at King's by assigning to them an older student.

Members of the MathSoc committee are usually available in the Maths Undergraduate Common Room (S4.37). If all else fails you can contact us via this website (the link is above) or on Facebook. We are more than happy to hear from you for suggestions, concerns or anything else.
